The lane to my house is rapidly becoming a mess. The part the mailman uses every day is really getting torn up. With diesel being what it is I shudder to think what a load of rock is going to cost this spring and summer.
The county road is a disaster and it isn't helped by the fact that my neighbor is a truck driver and he drives his 18 wheeler down it twice a day. He's gonna end up in the ditch or stuck eventually.
I liked it better when the road was so narrow and overgrown that people rarely used it and came in another way. A 4x4 could negotiate it fine but it kept out the riff raff. Unfortunately the new neighbors wanted it fixed and whined to the county until it was rocked, widened and the brush pushed back from the road.
