Huckabee's win

So, the mainstream media, including Rush, is trying to pin Huckabee's win, in part, on a large turnout of so-called "evangelical Christians".

Ha.

Albeit anecdotal evidence, our precinct had a majority of Methodists, with just a couple of us "holier-than-thou" Baptists in attendance. Methodists tend not to be evangelical, but would consider themselves pretty "middle of the road," at least compared to us fire-and-brimestone Baptists.

(Man, I hope I didn't start a cross-town war between the churches with that statement.)

Point is: People voted for Huckabee because they don't want some east coast plastic banana FM type telling us ya-hoos in the sticks how to live our lives. We want someone that we can relate to, that is approachable, and seems to have solutions to our country's needs. Mike Huckabee has the experience and leadership to get the job done.

We didn't have to consult with Rush Limbaugh or Laura Ingraham before making a decision. We didn't refer to Bob Novak because we don't take the New York Times; The Des Moines Register is bad enough to tell us that newspapers are on the decline. We carefully looked over the candidates and picked the one we thought would serve us best.

See, we don't require talking heads to tell us what to think or do. We don't receive marching orders via Fox News.

We Iowans are a surly, independent bunch.

Christians in Iowa are an embarrasment to real Christians everywhere. 34% of Republican Voters in Iowa chose to support a LIBERAL man of dangerously questionable judgement solely to ensure that a Mormon wouldn't win. I'm embarrased that y'all call yourselves Christian! You should be ashamed.

Anonymous 5:17 - Being a little judgemental, are we? Are you better in touch with God than we are in Iowa? Do you have a hotline to heaven?

Listen, it would make no difference if Romney was a Baptist and Huckabee was a Methodist - we smelled Romney's lies and plastic banana front. Huckabee is relatable and honest.

Agreed. Huckabee voters have their head in the sand because they want to believe in Mike. Other than being a Christian I haven't really heard a descent case being made why Huckabee should be President.

He looked like the silent fool during last night's debate. You just won Iowa, how about a little participation.

It's now officially the morning after and a lot of Iowans should felt cheap and used.

Uh, because he's not a northeastern war mongerer like Rudy?

40,800 Iowans can't be wrong...

About 4100, however, voted for World War IV and endless 9-11.

Yeah he's a bleeding heart liberal in Christ's clothes and you lapped it up. The guy has no, none, zero tangible experience. Governor of Arkansas? Been there, done that. He looked like an outclasses fool during last night's debate. I was waiting for him to raise his hand and ask the moderators to dumb down the questions so he could attempt to understand the complexity of the issues facing this nation.

Maybe when the GHB wears off you will have a clearer view of him. Great he's pro-life...one trick pony voters will be the undoing of this party.

I will not vote for him. I will vote for Obama before I vote for Huckabee. In fact, I will go as far as to say if the Republican party nominates Huckabee, I will register as an independent. Because if that happens then the party will truly have abandoned it's principles. You know, the hundreds of other principles beyond pro-life.

Have to agree with Jeremie. Huck is John Edwards with a Bible. Rootie is gun grabbing lib who can't complete a sentence w/o mentioning 9/11. McCrazy wants go give the country to Mexico. Fred is on target but getting little traction. What a choice !
